Marriott Tysons Corner

The Tysons Corner Marriott is located right off 495 on Leesburg Pike. It’s location makes it right next door to the Tysons Corner mall and a short distance from Tysons II. It is surrounded by office buildings, shopping and many dining choices. Its close proximity to the Washington, DC American Girl doll store makes it an ideal hotel if you are visiting the store from a distance. It is also one of the hotels nearby the AG store that offers a package for little girls and their dolls. We took advantage of this very package for my daughters birthday.

Upon arriving at the Tysons Corner Marriott my first thought was parking. There are two small ground level parking lots that require a ticket to park. Beyond that is a parking garage situated under the hotel. When we entered the lobby my daughter noticed a case full of American Girl dolls and their accessories. She was already squealing with excitement. Check-in was quick and polite. The lobby looks freshly done, clean and modern with a sitting area that is great for working and lounging. Wi-fi is available in this spot. A lounge, Shula’s restaurant and hotel gift shop are also located off the lobby.

When we entered our room the first thing we noticed was a pink American Girl doll bed made up on our own King-sized bed. More squealing and exploring commenced. The rooms at this hotel are tastefully modern. I found our room to be very clean and accommodating. There were plenty of pillows of varying plumpness and the sheets were soft. There is a small fridge, a working desk with a decent amount of outlets and a flat screen TV that can rotate. A pretty green chair sits off to the side that had a plum colored throw pillow I wanted to take home. There are additional headboard mounted reading lights on each side of the bed as well. The bathroom is a good size with plenty of towels for about 3-4 people and Bath & Body Works citrus bath products are offered. The counter top is a about standard but there is room for toiletries and stowing stuff underneath the sink, which I like.

We chose the breakfast buffet the following morning. It is located in a small area off the dining room which made it a bit hard to maneuver.  However, we found many choices. From cereal, oatmeal and yogurt to a fresh fruit bar and eggs to order there is a lot to choose. That’s only half the breakfast buffet too. I loved all the fruit and we felt full but with healthy choices.

Overall our stay was pleasant, the hotel is quiet and you don’t hear outside noise from 495. It was very clean and the staff was polite without being overly friendly. The addition of two sugar cookies on the AG doll bed that you can take home with you, was a nice touch too. Rates are very affordable for this hotel and there are many other packages available. I would recommend it to others staying in the area or visiting the American Girl store.
