Red Carpet Manicure

The Red Carpet Manicure is an affordable alternative to getting a salon gel polish manicure done at home.  Not to sound like an infomercial or anything, but now you can get the same great glossy, long-lasting finish at home that you do from the salon.  Red Carpet takes  about 20 minutes (once you know how to do it) and lasts weeks.  It is not supposed to chip or peel either.  I tested it and found these results.

The Pro kit costing ($79.99) breaks down to about only $2.90 per application and comes with nine pieces per kit.  The instructions are explicit and easy to follow. I did this one afternoon when I had some time to myself and some bad television in the DVR.  I buffed my nails up a bit, shaped them and used the Purify solution to wipe my nails clean.  I added the first base coat and then the first coat of polish.  There is a video tutorial that breaks it all down for you.  You cure your nails after each coat for a minute under the LED light and then paint again.  You do this per thumb and every four fingers a few times and even with the top coat, Brilliance, which seals and adds shine to your nails.  What shine too!  My nails were so gorgeous looking and the shine never diminished.  A week went by and I was amazed at how chip-free and shiny they were.  Nothing had changed.  I will warn you though, if any polish gets on your skin or overlaps from the nail this creates a weakness in the manicure and the only reason you can chip  or peel the polish away.  Take care of that before you are finished, especially if you pick at your nails like I do.  After a week I took off one perfect coat of polish on a nail.

The whole kid includes-

  • Professional LED Light – LED Gel-Curing Light (AC Power Cord Adapter Included).
  • Prep – MAX ADHESION PREP
  • Structure – BASE COAT GEL
  • Brilliance – SEAL & SHINE TOP COAT GEL
  • Revitalize – NOURISHING CUTICLE OIL
  • Red Carpet Reddy – LED Gel Polish
  • Purify – PRE & POST APPLICATION CLEANSER
  • Erase – GEL NAIL POLISH REMOVER
  • RCM Instructions Card

I was skeptical about the LED light but it works!  I was quite pleased.  If you like to do your nails and keep the same color for a long time then this is a great kit for you.  If you are going on a trip and won’t have time to get them done then Red Carpet is a perfect way to have long-lasting nails for weeks.  Removal is easy and on par with other kits of this caliber and the salon.

Red Carpet Manicure Pro and Starter Kits can be purchased online and at Ulta stores everywhere. There are over 54 colors to choose.

  1. Oooh, this is awesome! I got my first gel manicure the other day and loved it, and I was wondering about how to do it at home!

  2. Sounds like a great solution for busy moms. I often think about a mani long after the salons have closed!

  3. I love this! It’s simply not in my budget (sad face) to get salon manicures and pedicures, but this sounds like a great little investment. And I have plenty of *bad* stuff building up on my DVR.
