Hoover WindTunnel® Air™ Bagless Upright

The Hoover WindTunnel Air Bagless Upright ($199.99) vacuum arrived at my door and I was surprised at its size. It seemed too compact and light to be very powerful. After all, I’m used to a bagless vacuum that is quite heavy and a bit of an animal. However, I had a party at my house the next day and I immediately got down to work vacuuming my home.

My initial thought was that it was just too light to get the job done. I have a dog and three kids in my home. We own a sandbox. They eat a ton of snacks and play with play-doh often. Was this 12 lb. vacuum really going to clean they way I needed? Absolutely! Right away I was impressed with the suction on the Hoover WindTunnel Air Bagless Upright. It easily got into corners and under my couch and other furniture with no problems. The front of the vacuum is low and flat enabling it to get into those tight spots and it swivels well. I love that the attachments and hoses are all connected to the vacuum all the time. I have lost so many vacuum accessories in my life because they had to be stored somewhere else.

As I continued to vacuum my house I found the transition from carpet to hardwood to upholstery and stairs to be almost effortless. Changing out hoses and attachments was a no-brainer. I didn’t need to refer to a manual because this Hoover WindTunnel is pretty intuitive. The light weight makes it easy to do my stairs and so does the extra hose attachment. I think it cleans them better than my other vacuum too. The pile actually comes up and looks combed when I’m done. Just be careful with area rugs because the suction on the WindTunnel is so strong it might not move as easily as you would like across the rug. That was my only issue but I wouldn’t trade suction power for that at all. I can live with that.

The Hoover WindTunnel Air Bagless Upright is easy to clean, has a removable filter that can be washed and then put back into the canister. Blowback is minimal on this machine and the hoses have a one touch release to unhook them from the vacuum. That is one of my favorite features. The Brush shut-off is automatic, which I love. No more bending over to hit that button at the bottom of the vacuum! The WindTunnel has a HEPA filter and a multi-cyclonic filtration system that traps 99.97% of dirt, dust and pollens (down to 0.3 microns). I feel like my carpet is cleaner and so is my whole house now that I have this vacuum. It is so easy to use and lightweight that I don’t mind pulling it out for quick clean up jobs. I highly recommend it.
