Ellio’s Pizza Review

It was your typical Friday afternoon.  School let out, friends came over, my husband and I both went running and there was time spent outside as a family.  Suddenly we realized, “Dinner! We forgot to take something out to make dinner!”  I remembered that I had a box of Ellio’s pizza in the freezer (9 slices in each box) and quickly popped it in the oven.

As a kid, I ate Ellio’s cheese pizza almost daily as an after school snack. A lot of my friends did the very same thing.  We would come home famished and it was a fast, filling snack that could be made in the toaster oven or conventional oven.  I was curious to see if the recipe and flavor of the pizza had changed over the years but it has not.  It is still made with 100% real cheese, naturally vine-ripened tomato sauce and hand-rolled dough for the crust.  I love that it doesn’t have preservatives or artificial ingredients in it too.  After all this time it still tastes the way it did when I was a kid and my girls liked it too.  The crust is crunchy and there is a good sauce to cheese ratio. If you want extra cheese they have that variety too.

Dinner in minutes!

There are over five types of Ellio’s pizza available – cheese, extra cheese, five cheese, Italian sausage & pepperoni, pepperoni and supreme.  Each one heats up fast and comes in 9 slices to a box or in a jumbo size.  I really like that I can buy a few different types of pizza and give everyone a combination of flavors or they can stick to just cheese, as my oldest always does when we eat it.  It makes a great snack, quick lunch or impromptu dinner that can be eaten alone or have other healthy sides added to it. It makes a fast dinner in minutes, which is very needed in a busy family of five. The kids loved the surprise pizza party too.

Ellio’s pizza can be found in your grocer’s freezer and you can visit them online at Ellio’s Facebook Page, Twitter Page and the Ellio’s Website.
