McCain Sweet Potato Cross Trax

Dinner time in our house can be crazy.  I may have figured out the entree but the side dishes can be a whole other issue.  My desire to be healthy versus what the kids want to actually eat can result in a battle of wills, indecision and frustration.  Some nights it is straight up steamed and seasoned veggies and other nights it is a side of fresh cut and fried or baked fries. The nights that I whip out a bag of McCain Sweet Potato Seasoned Cross Trax fries, I feel like I have come to a good compromise.

McCain Sweet Potato Seasoned Cross Trax fries are all natural (9 servings per bag) and can be baked in the oven, put in a deep fryer or cooked in a toaster oven. I make them in my oven for my family of five but in the toaster oven when it is just for one or two people.  They take only minutes to make so even if i need to find something last minute these fries will do the trick.  They are a healthy, quick alternative to making my own sweet potato fries that works in a pinch in our house.  I have added them to favorite family meals like a garlic rubbed pork tenderloin as well as serving them with your basic burger.  They work well with chicken, beef, pork and vegetarian meals.  I love that McCain has made them “waffle” style because my kids think this shape is fun and it reminds them of a fast food place where the fries are cut in a similar way.  The seasoning is a good blend of garlic, onion powder, paprika and sea salt that is tasty enough to satisfy an adult palate while not being too spicy for a child’s.  Whenever we make them they go fast.  The same goes for McCain’s regular Cross Trax fries.

You can purchase McCain Sweet Potato Cross Trax fries from your grocer’s freezer section. Visit their Facebook page for more information.
