Hide ’em & Hatch ’em Eggs

Fun Find–  Just in time for Easter is a fun, non-candy alternative that your kids will love.  I know that my three girls (ages 2-7) loved their Hide ’em & Hatch ’em Eggs.  I actually used a few before Easter to get them into the spring season and am planning on hiding a few more during our holiday Easter egg hunt.

A great addition to Easter baskets, Hide ’em & Hatch ’em Eggs ($14.95) get soaked in water for 6-12 hours (more like 24) and begin to crack within the water.  Soon a baby chicken, duck or rabbit will start to appear through the cracks.  My  kids were fairly impatient and after 24 hours we decided the eggs needed some help.  I cracked them in my hand by force and out came a clear-slime coated rubber animal.  You can allow the animals to soak longer and get a bit bigger or clean them off and play with them right away.  They are a bit spongey at first but harden up in a few hours.  So far, it was a big hit and the girls have spent a week with these little animals by their sides. I love that they come three in a box.

Hide & Hatch Eggs are available on Amazon for $8.95 (they are the #1 Easter item this month on Amazon) and find them on Facebook.

  1. OMG I need to get these next year for Riley (and maybe Samantha too).

I had two packs and the girls went nuts over each. Pink eggs are rabbits, yellow are chickens and green eggs hold ducks.
