Udi’s Tortillas

In the last year I have had to go gluten-free in my life. Udi’s has become a great staple in our house when it comes to bread alternatives. I love the taste and texture of their foods. I was so excited to try their gluten-free tortillas as I use them for every meal and quite often. We go through tortillas in our house by two packs a week sometimes.

Udi’s Gluten-free Tortillas  (about $4.35) come in two sizes (8 and 6-inch) and work for burritos, fajitas, wraps and more. I used them for all of those purposes and found that no matter what I did beyond toasting them the tortillas were dry and fell apart almost immediately. I was really disappointed. I love Udi’s! What was going on with these tortillas? They didn’t taste great either with a grainy texture that felt powdery and lacked flavor. Made from tapioca flour, potato starch and a few other usual GF ingredients I can’t figure out why exactly these didn’t work out but welcome other ways to use or work with them.  I like that they are low in fat and calories and hope to see more from Udi’s with their tortillas and other products in the future.

You can find Udi’s products at your local grocery store in the freezer and refrigerated section or Gluten-Free aisle.
